Last night, the 77th Primetime Emmys saw big victories for the year's most-watched series. 6.9 million people tuned in to see The Studio and Adolescence win big, compared to last year's 4.3 million viewers, tempered down by the SAG-AFTRA strikes.

This year was hosted by beloved comedian host Nate Bargatze, though critics found some complications with his use of clean, laid-back humor, which many felt was an odd choice for the traditionally high-energy, zany, and occasionally profane humor that Emmy hosts are accustomed to.

Adolescence was the biggest winner of the night, taking home 6 Primetime Emmys, and 2 Creative Arts Emmys the week prior. This victory breaks the record for most wins of a limited series. It also marks Netflix's third consecutive win for best Limited or Anthology Series. It also marked Owen Cooper as the youngest-ever male Emmy-winner.

Seth Rogen took home four Emmys for his role in steering the ship for the Apple TV+ comedy.

Jean Smart took home her fourth Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, all for Hacks, and her costar, Hannah Einbinder, took the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress for a Comedy Series.

Despite numerous nominations, The Bear walked away empty-handed despite being an awards season favorite for most of its run.

Adolescence's win for Best Actor comes at the cost of awards season favorite Colin Farrell for The Penguin, who won the Golden Globe, the SAG Award, and the Critics' Choice Award.

Other winners of the night include The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Traitors, SNL 50, Somebody Somewhere, and Slow Horses. This year's Emmys proved that the underdog can still claim the big prizes despite going against the established heavy hitters.
